Eva Schießl-Foggensteiner, Managing Director of the FH of the BFI Vienna, appointed by the FHK Board as Head of the FHK Committee on Gender Mainstreaming & Diversity Management

The Board of the FHK has set up a committee to deal with gender mainstreaming and diversity management. At yesterday's board meeting, Eva Schießl-Foggensteiner, Managing Director of the FH BFI Vienna, was appointed head of the committee.

"As places of learning and teaching, universities of applied sciences have the right to create equal opportunities and utilise existing potential in order to make a contribution to educational equality," says Eva Schießl-Foggensteiner. "I am delighted that the Board has placed its trust in me and entrusted me with the management of the committee."

Previously, there was already a loose association of gender and diversity officers from the individual institutions in the university of applied sciences sector. In view of its socio-political relevance and importance, the topic has been anchored in the Executive Board. Kurt Koleznik, Secretary General of the FHK, comments: "Equal treatment, equal opportunities and permeability are not just a legal obligation. They also offer far-reaching opportunities for the institution, employees, students and, ultimately, society to develop further."

In Eva Schießl-Foggensteiner, the Gender Mainstreaming & Diversity Management Committee has a competent head who has relevant expertise, not least due to her work in leading positions in the education and science sector and in the Ministry for Women's Affairs.
