Three universities of applied sciences are among the leaders.
Austrian universities of applied sciences once again have reason to be proud. In the European university ranking "U-Multirank 2019", they were able to maintain an absolute top position among 1,711 universities from 96 countries. Three Austrian universities of applied sciences made it into the top league of European universities in the dimensions of cooperation with business/industry, orientation towards the labour market, student mobility and international orientation of studies.
"For us, this pleasing result is further proof that the university profile of the universities of applied sciences is a promising one. On behalf of the FHK, we will therefore continue to work to ensure that universities of applied sciences in Austria have good framework conditions to successfully continue their core competences of practice-oriented teaching and application-related research. We are convinced that politicians, and above all our new Science Minister Iris Rauskala, will recognise this and support us in maintaining the high quality of studies at universities of applied sciences. To do this, we need above all the appropriate financial framework conditions and a readjustment in the financing of study places," said FHK Secretary General Kurt Koleznik on the ranking results presented today.
