FHK thanks Minister of Science Mitterlehner

Utl.: Much progress made through constructive cooperation

Vienna, 15 May 2017 - On the occasion of Dr Reinhold Mitterlehner's resignation from the office of Science Minister, the Austrian University of Applied Sciences Conference (FHK) would like to thank him for the excellent cooperation over the past few years. "Vice-Chancellor Mitterlehner was an important and constructive partner in the further development of the Austrian higher education sector," says Helmut Holzinger, President of the FHK. "In particular, his support in the negotiations on the cost-of-living adjustment has helped to secure the high quality of teaching at the universities of applied sciences for the coming years," emphasises Holzinger.

In any case, the FHK hopes that the reform plans initiated by Mitterlehner, which have come a long way, will be continued by his successor. "It is important that the "Future University" process is pursued further and brought to a successful conclusion as part of a smart overall strategy for Austria as a centre of research, science and education," concluded Holzinger.
