High quality in research and teaching as well as a high level of practical and applied relevance in the degree programme are key aspects for the recent success of the FH/HAW
Having already achieved very good results in the recently published student social survey, the FH/HAW's excellent performance is once again confirmed by the annual trust index compiled by OGM. The FH/HAW's trust ratings were surveyed for the first time and they achieved 4th place from a standing start, making them the best of all Austrian educational institutions.
"We are very pleased about the high level of trust that Austrians have in our universities. This shows that our consistent focus on top quality and student-centred teaching and research has once again been confirmed. In this way, we are significantly ensuring high graduation rates and good career prospects for our graduates," said the President of the Austrian University of Applied Sciences Conference (FHK) in view of the pleasing results.
"We are taking these high confidence ratings as an opportunity to reiterate that structural measures must be put in place for UASs in the coming years in order to maintain their performance and enable them to fully realise their potential. By this we mean funding for UASs that takes teaching, research and knowledge transfer into account in the long term, as well as the possibility of submitting independent doctoral programmes for accreditation. Only in this way will we be able to continue to promote attractive career paths and produce academically qualified specialists with the best career prospects. These measures must be implemented quickly by the new federal government," demands Ulrike Prommer, President of the Austrian University of Applied Sciences Conference (FHK).
