The President of the University of Applied Sciences Conference, Raimund Ribitsch, is clearly positive and pleased about the key figures announced yesterday by the Ministry of Science for the universities of applied sciences in the 2018/2019 double budget: not only is the universities of applied sciences' standard annual budget of EUR 7.8 million secured to the full and necessary extent, but bold offensive measures to create additional study places are also being made possible. As part of the 2019 budget, an additional EUR 25 million is to flow into the expansion of UAS study places. Ribitsch: "The Minister has also announced that 2020 will be the year of universities of applied sciences. By creating 450 new study places in 2019, he is laying a solid foundation for this. We are delighted that the Minister is honouring his word and will work with the Ministry on the further development of our sector."
