The Austrian University of Applied Sciences Conference (FHK) congratulates Hofrat Dr Hubert Regner on his 75th birthday. The recipient of the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art 1st Class was actively involved in the planning of the first Austrian university of applied sciences degree programmes as early as 1989 as head of the "Science and Continuing Education" department in the Vorarlberg state government. From 1998 to 2002, Dr Regner was also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of FH Vorarlberg. In 2003, he was appointed to the University of Applied Sciences Council by the then Science Minister Gehrer and was Vice President from 2005 to 2008.
"Hofrat Dr Hubert Regner was always a pioneer of the university of applied sciences system. With his "University of Applied Sciences study programme "Production automation" paved the way for the first university of applied sciences degree programmes in Austria," explains FHK Secretary General Kurt Koleznik, himself a former managing director of FH Vorarlberg. FHK President Raimund Ribitsch emphasises Dr Regner's important role as FH Council Vice President: "His vision and forward-looking approach were one of the cornerstones of the success story of universities of applied sciences in Austria. We wish him a very happy birthday!".
