Ideas that change the world!

The Falling Walls Lab is an international competition that makes innovative research ideas visible. Students and young professionals from all disciplines have the opportunity to present their projects to a wide audience in a three-minute pitch.

Together with strong partners from the Austrian research landscape, the FHK is bringing the Falling Walls Lab to Vienna. We are looking for research ideas that inspire and have the potential to make the world a better place.

We look forward to inspiring ideas that overcome boundaries and bring down walls!

This is how it works!

The Technology Talks Austria will take place on 10 and 11 September 2026 in Vienna's MuseumsQuartier and is considered Austria's most important technology conference. It is largely organised by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology.

The Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft invites all finalists of the Falling Walls Lab Vienna to a full-day pitching training on 7 September (10:00-18:00) at LOFFICE in Vienna, led by science communicator and presentation expert Bernhard Weingartner (initiator of science slams). The training is designed to help participants sharpen their messages, structure convincing pitches and communicate their ground-breaking ideas clearly and effectively. Through practical exercises and targeted feedback, the training aims to optimally prepare participants for the presentation of their work at the Falling Walls Lab Vienna 2026.
