Kurt Koleznik explains that UAS graduates should also be able to do a doctorate at a UAS if they have the right to award doctorates independently. If all the prerequisites are in place at the UAS - researchers, research questions, the money, habilitated supervisors employed at the UAS - then there is no reason not to be able to do a doctorate. He considers politics to be more open in this respect than in the past. He sees cooperation programmes between universities and universities of applied sciences as a first step and says: \"(...) it would also do the universities good to open up here.
